Composer, singer, pianist, Jayne Critelli was born in Utica, NY. Growing up in a family of music lovers, she was introduced to a well-rounded array of musical styles. As a soon-to-be budding composer and songwriter, she could not have been in a better place. Jayne's early listening included Broadway shows, opera, pop, standards and jazz music. Early vocal influences were Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Barbara Streisand as well as jazz artists such as Stan Getz, Bill Evans, and Wes Montgomery. Later on came the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Laura Nyro and other talents of that era. Jayne began composing songs in her early teens as well as studied piano and voice. Her first band, Lilith, performed her original songs and showcased vocals with four-part harmony and two flutes. Jayne's interest in church choral music inspired her to write for children and adults.
